So proud of Patrick! He started working with me as an undergraduate and is still assisting with my projects as a lab tech. He has been a vital piece of my dissertation and I couldn’t be more happy as his mentor that he is going on to pursue his PhD! 👏🏻🦠🐝

Check out my pre-print on how commercially available honey bee probiotics are not living up to their claims and wasting beekeepers' money. #beekeeping #probiotics #regulatoryscience

One week left to apply to the postdoc position in my future lab at UC Santa Barbara! Lots of cool questions on the early evolution of life ☺️ Did I also mention how beautiful and diverse Santa Barbara is? 😜

The rarely studied bee reproductive microbiome is critical for the hive colony health. Patrick Gallagher from the Kasie Raymann lab shows how drones acquire their reproductive microbiome in comparison to the gut. Waiting for the work on queens. #ASMicrobe ASM

I am proud to share my first publication that I co-authored with Patrick Gallagher ! We discovered core bacteria in the reproductive tissues of male honey bees and revealed that social interactions are essential for the proper development of the microbiota. journals.asm.org/doi/full/10.11…
