1/2 - We have been advised by the Derbyshire Scouts Water Activities Team that anyone under the age of 18 must have a personal permit if they wish to enter the Dove Canoe Race this year. As far as we are aware there are no young people in Derbyshire who hold a personal permit.

2/2 Therefore this year there will not be a race but young people can canoe on the day as long as they are accompanied by an adult with the correct canoeing/kayaking permit. If you have any queries please contact Dot Asquith?([email protected])

After discussions with the water bailiff/organisers we regret to announce that the Derbyshire Scouts Dove Canoe Race will not be going ahead today. The water level is extremely low so the risk of paddlers getting into difficulty or damage to canoes/kayaks is greatly increased.
