We endured six months of submissions and process for the Treaty Principles Bill, a bill cabinet knew would never pass. Yet the Govt gives just 12 hours for radical changes to pay equity laws that directly impact hundreds of thousands of workers, mostly women, & their families.

Indeed back to 1990s: pay equity law I took through Parliament as Minister of Labour was quickly repealed by incoming National Govt. In 2008 another incoming Nat Govt shut down pay & employment equity office established under my govt. Here they go again. teara.govt.nz/en/womens-labo…

This is very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very bad timing for National. Ministers set to take big pay rises, right after wiping 33 pay equity claims newsroom.co.nz/2025/05/13/cab…

Every time the PM says his Govt is going to make pay equity “more affordable” he is just saying they want to keep underpaying the people whose work has been undervalued due to gender discrimination.

We just need to value the work. Teachers, for example, educate, provide health and safety care, social learning, and belonging, to our literal future 30+hours per week Why do we value it less than an engineer huh? That engineer had to first learn maths at school from a teacher.

Christopher Luxon NatGPT Secret recordings, sneaky pervy photos, good on those brave workers for coming forward. It also makes one wonder what other types of deception Forbes has been up.

Hooking up for sugar, money or fun? WHERE ARE THEIR DEVICES? We shouldn't have to say, people should be better BUT if you are having commercial, causal or not-so-casual sex - check where the devices are and what they are doing!

A roomful of people who got free education, low cost Social housing, nationalised power, health, and low cost loans to purchase housing, who no doubt have at least 2 or 3 investment properties the rent of which is boosted with taxpayer-funded accommodation supplements. Users.

Even if wasn’t utterly racist to attack Te Reo it’s educationally wrong to assume tamariki are “ confused” by kupu - most children on this planet have exposure to more than one language, it’s normal and exciting unless you think everyone shouid just speak English, think English

So funny how the government offered corporate board members an 80% pay rise, MPs got a 10% payrise, but they've only offered teachers a 1% pay increase and are acting offended that teachers rejected it. Just more Class War politics from the Nats as per usual I guess

S*x work doesn't have to be "empowering". It can just be a job. You don't have to be saving or studying to justify it. You can just be living and that's ka pai.

Bolger's legacy will always be the moral strength of his willingness to look back at the National Party's past and reflect on the wrongs done, and his willingness to say so in an era when it has become fashionable to make excuses for the errors and depredations of the past
