I have written to the new Garda Commissioner requesting a meeting with him and the Oireachtas members for Cork City to discuss how we can deliver better policing in Cork. Cork deserves it’s fair share of Gardaí and in recent years it has not been getting it and that must change.

Appalling that a member of An Garda Síochána was attacked in this way. Wishing him a full and speedy recovery.
