Today's NHS England Stats show more people who attend major A&E's are being admitted to hospital. Anyone know if this is increasing patient acuity, changes to admission thresholds, the success of alternatives to A&E - or something else entirely?!

Another excellent resource from Elective & Emergency Care Improvement Support Team to support you improve patient flow. Good patient flow is everyone’s business, both in & outside of the hospital setting. The 4 access standard is also everyone’s business, because it’s a system standard not an ED or hospital target.

3. Stop the statins over 80 4. The lowest mortality BP in the very elderly is 160-180 systolic 5. You can destroy very carefully orchestrated plans by community care teams 6. Don’t urine dip >65yo’s 7. Smelly urine is not indicative of UTI - Dr Linda Dykes has moved to Bluesky #18IAEM

Really important paper demonstrating that physio assessment in the first 24 hours reduces dependence and length of stay. We need 7 day urgent care physios for the elderly and can expect it to save money, beds and poor outcomes! journals.lww.com/jgpt/Abstract/…
