Such an informative feature by walkhighlands curtesy of Ben Dolphin 🏴❄️. For one of life’s ‘tidies’ this have given me lots to think about. Thank you both for putting this together. walkhighlands.co.uk/news/deadwood-…
ICYMI: Climber and star of Netflix film ‘14 Peaks’ Nirmal Purja, was outed as a sexual predator last Friday by The New York Times Jenny Vrentas It was an open secret in the industry. Please read and share this important article 🙏 I have made it free to read. nytimes.com/2024/05/31/spo…
My second post on the destructive planting of native trees at Muckrach near the Cairngorms National Park HQ at Grantown: upturned soils releasing carbon, killer fences, the usual failed saplings despite the fertiliser, all among natural regeneration parkswatchscotland.co.uk/2024/07/12/muc…
Now that’s what I call a bombproof anchor. HM Coastguard putting in the training hours for all those crag snatches and pick ups. No climber wants to see these caped hero’s in a profession capacity but reassuring to know they are loitering in the background.
Very happy that The Press and Journal have featured Granite Girls - a women's climbing club some friends and I started last year in Aberdeen :) Mountaineering Scotland British Mountaineering Council UKClimbing Alpine Club pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/lifestyle/h…

An update on Mar'verick's movements, the white-tailed eagle who fledged from Mar Lodge in 2022. In 2024 he has spent most of his time in the northern Cairngorms but made periodic forays west as far as north-west Skye and north of Ullapool. Thanks to RSPB Scotland for the map.
Thank you Roger Cox for your article in The Scotsman Magazine this weekend. A great title and a brilliant read, that pulls out some of my favourite bits of the book Off Piste Performance
