As confirmed by the Prime Minister this evening, we are asking education and childcare settings to prepare to open for more children from 1 June. We will publish further guidance setting out more information for early years, schools and colleges tomorrow.

The DfE guidance is as expected. The fact that schools will not be reimbursed for extra costs to keep schools clean and safe is frankly appalling. Stretched budgets stretched even more. There isn’t a school I know that hasn’t incurred extra costs during this crisis.
