For throwing athletes, it's important when training the shoulder complex to consider the rapid acceleration & deceleration required in the rotation of the upper arm in throwing. Here is a great drill utilizing some light Indian Clubs that we like to incorporate with our throwers.

When designing training programs for athletes, there is no one way to do things. Not only does each sport, level of play, position and athlete have unique needs, but athletes also require a long and wide-ranging list of attributes needed to meet the demands of their competition

Correlation does not equal causation. And any correlation of limited shoulder internal rotation and arm injuries doesn't mean everyone should be screaming about GIRD and doing sleeper stretches. Great work Dr. Bullock! Garrett Bullock PT, DPT, DPhil sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

We are so focused in our training about how much force we can PRODUCE - How much can you lift, how fast you can run, how high you can jump, etc. however... We also need to train to be able to ABSORB force. Principles of Program Design Diamond Revolution Training
