Today on the #inglorious12th months of hard work by organised criminals wiping our natural heritage comes to fruition. And all so they can kill yet more animals for fun and profit.

Is this pollen on this Common Carder Bee, or something more sinister? I’ve just been reading about Stylops in Brigit Strawbridge’s wonderful book “Dancing with Bees” and I saw this bee today. Any ideas please? Brigit Strawbridge Bumblebee Conservation Trust .

A few shots from the Scillonian on Tuesday. Nice to see my first Arctic Skua and Great Shearwater. Lots of Manxies seen during the crossings and a couple of Guillemots bobbing along. #Scillonian111 #seabirds,

I thought that I was running out of time to see a Spotted Flycatcher this year. So delighted to see not one, but five up on Penlee Battery this morning. Cornwall Birds The Wildlife Trusts #birds

It’s always nice to see one of my favourite butterflies, the Small Copper. This one was busy trying to avoid the Wasp Spiders on the Watch Field at Penlee, SE Cornwall this afternoon. Cornwall Butterfly Conservation Cornwall Butterfly Conservation #wildlifephotography #butterflies

A moment of truce for this Willow Warbler and Spotted Flycatcher. The warbler was a right bully, chasing off the spot fly at any opportunity. Cornwall Birds #birds

‘Butterflies & Botany’ You can’t have one without the other, and gladly I enjoy both - for finding, observing, and photographing. Viper’s Bugloss (Echium vulgare) is a top plant for nectar, as I hope these recent shots from northern Greece demonstrate.
