Imagine a field where the water flows naturally through the landscape, slowed by natural barriers, creating wildlife habitats.

Ever seen a butterfly egg?

DWT's South Devon and Dartmoor volunteers have been surveying cuckooflowers at Woodah Farm, where orange-tip butterflies are already laying their eggs.

The females lay 1 egg per plant as the caterpillars tend to eat each other! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Becca from DWT's team was sampling soils when she noticed this furry visitor.

Soil sampling can help landowners find out how to manage healthy soils, including for beneficial microorganism and insects, providing food for animals like foxes!

An exciting day with Rivers Association volunteers, who have carefully nurtured these salmon fry. Izzy from DWT's Northern Devon Natural Solutions project supported the release of salmon back into the river Torridge, after assessing the water quality of the river.

Great tits are known for using a variety of nesting material - moss, straw, fur/hair... tennis ball fluff?

While it's interesting to see litter reused by birds, it shouldn't be encouraged. Take all litter home with you & dispose of correctly.
