Butterflies are flying in Cornwall!

Now is a good time to be looking for early butterflies. Nine species have been spotted so far this year, including the Large Tortoisehell, Red Admiral, Peacock, and the migrant Painted Lady butterflies.

Thank you to Chacewater Parish Council for putting on a brilliant event. Their Community Engagement Day featured many local groups and visitors. Cornwall Butterfly Conservation has made new friends and talked to visitors about what CBC does. We also enjoyed excellent cake!

Another day up on Bodmin Moor helping Cornwall Butterfly Conservation with habitat management for Pearl-bordered Fritillaries. Today's site sits between two existing colonies, which hopefully we can encourage to connect.

It was good to be back on Bodmin Moor this weekend, helping Cornwall Butterfly Conservation with habitat management for the Pearl-bordered Fritillary colony at Pendavy.
