We expect you to work for the truth twisters, that’s your job.

But we also expect neutrality.

We deserve not to be spied on by our own country.

Doctors, teachers, nurses.

We’re not the enemy within.

We’re just fed up of working to exhaustion for rubbish pay.

Prof Colin R Melville thanks- what’s your view as part of the GMC of PAs being on doctors rotas?

Does the GMC have a position on this based on ‘protecting the public’?

My query to you as a senior clinician who does work around patient safety

Thanks for considering

There is no agenda to replace doctors with physician associates.

This is just one hospital.

This is just one 6 month period.

Aldi grad = £50,000

Yr 8

A lot of Palliative care is funded by charity. Is this acceptable in a caring civilised society?
Many people are passionate about assisted dying, yet the vast majority of Drs who see 100s of deaths are against it
What Drs want is funded palliative care

It concluded that patients live longer when they had access to fully qualified GPs, continuity of care and there is higher funding of general practices. buff.ly/49T7qMr

If you don't feel upset and angry that many doctors are going to be unemployed, whilst cheaper, less trained staff are brought in to replace them, I question why? Maybe the powers that be have already won, or maybe you never cared in the first place? Either way it is very sad.

Good evidence internationally that physician managed organisations tend to be higher performing, and having clinician buy-in for transformation seems to be a lot easier if management are trusted.

Having similar professional backgrounds and experience is an enabler of this.

I have little else to add to this absolute sorry situation

Please - leadership of NHS England Workforce, Training and Education

What are you all doing.

So sad to see the disintegration of medical education being facilitated by a few

Please do your job- or have someone who can.

So given that 60% of Doctors have not completed medical school in the UK because the UK doesn’t train enough they are free to leave
But if you have self funded via student loans £100,000 and committed to a career that is now 35% less well paid you should stay forever 🤷🏻‍♂️

Forget the headline salary for a second.

My study budget for the year - to keep my knowledge up to date for patient care - is circa £700.

The “Placeholder” F1s-to-be will be so stressed by this ludicrous situation, but there’s something practical that as consultants we can do to help: we can offer up our spare rooms for a few weeks to give our newest colleagues a safety net for accommodation and a warm welcome.

Great idea Dr Linda Dykes @[email protected] let’s use this thread to put people in contact! Even though we shouldn’t have to resort to this, if you have a spare room to offer to placeholder doctors who’ll find out where they’ll be working in with less than a month before starting, comment below!!

Cancer patients are among the most complicated & sickest patients in hospital.

17 years to become a consultant, and 3-4 years in, I still question myself & ask advice from colleagues.

For a PA to replace Drs after 2 years of (less rigorous) training is simply dangerous

Are you a GP Partner? Would the PAs you have be able to untangle this?

5-year-old. (Mum is an HCP). Fever pain score being used for ? scarlet fever. Should unregulated individuals be assessing for scarlet fever (a notifiable disease)?

A lot to unpack here. (Consent given)

Pragmatic Quality Improvement: clear perspex wall mounted holders for ward stationery. Released hours of Doctors time to Doctor at low cost.

Why is it so difficult to achieve pragmatic improvements in ? Meantime NHS created hugely expensive PAs!

38 of us wrote to the head of the trent foundation school asking for more information so we can feel secure about which city we will work in three months time.

ICBs need to have FOI requests to get the genuine costs of acute Hub appointments

NHSE / ICB leaders are failing by funding more expensive appts, whilst stripping GP practices

Funding for Acute Respiratory Hubs average £48 per appt
GP appt £20 not being funded 🤷🏻‍♂️
