Quite ironic that it’s UKFPO stress awareness month given how their lack of planning and action is causing undue stress to incoming doctors!

Great idea Dr Linda Dykes @[email protected] let’s use this thread to put people in contact! Even though we shouldn’t have to resort to this, if you have a spare room to offer to placeholder doctors who’ll find out where they’ll be working in with less than a month before starting, comment below!!

8 weeks you say Victoria Atkins …? Can you tell the UKFPO about this as they’re under the impression that 3 weeks notice is sufficient for 100s of newly qualified doctors to uproot their life, find accommodation, move to a foreign city and start their first job as doctors.

Your daily reminder that NHSE expects some first year doctors to hear where they are placed as late as 4 July (or even tba) and be ready to start work in this unknown destination w/c 22 July. Still no explanation from NHSE of how this has been allowed to happen. 1.n

for those of you (like myself) unfamiliar with the geography of trent, this is it:

79 doctors, could be working anywhere in derbyshire, nottinghamshire or lincolnshire in 3 months, some won’t find out where they’re working until just 3 weeks before they start

Soon-to-be Doctors in placeholders can't book annual leave until they have been assigned their trust. For some, this could mean family weddings, but for others this could mean missing seeing Taylor Swift

Hundreds of UK final year medical students have been told by their foundation schools that they could only get three weeks notice of what hospital and city they will start working in.....🧵

We also reminded the foundation schools that NHS Trusts have a contractual requirement for all junior doctors to be provided a template rota at least eight weeks prior to the start of a placement.

There are 79 of us in Trent, but 100s of us across the UK.

All we want is to know is where we should start looking at renting. Why is this so hard for UKFPO and the Foundation Schools?
