We had a great discussion with some amazing AT students tonight @justin_2215 and Brett Follow our page the next few days as we posts questions these students had for certified ATs.

As we edit our episode from Thursday we will be posting questions the students have asked of certified ATs “What do you looking for in a resume, cover letter, or references? What are your tips for students to better their resumes?”

debATable podcast 1. No spelling mistakes or bad grammatical errors, for goodness sake save things in PDF form 2. Knowing what you’re applying for 3. Stand out, be different 4. Proper length for experience, students shouldn’t have a 3 page resume imo (i interview for immersions)

Another question from the AT students we interviewed in our most recent episode. "How do you stick up for yourself as an AT, without being disrespectful? How do you make yourself be seen and respected as a healthcare professional?"

debATable podcast Look to understand where they're coming from, reflect on that, then respond. Dont listen so that u can then respond. Dont b afraid to simplify things and talk to them on their level I mean that in the most respectful way, as they dont always have the same level of understanding.

debATable podcast Have an understanding you work “with” people, not necessarily “for” them, especially coaches. You are a professional. Value yourself and your stance but be humble enough to know what you don’t know.

debATable podcast Side note to all the good thing ATs will say: Depending on your gender and/or your race, there will be people you address and stand up to that will always deem you disrespectful, no matter how you word or present it. Not that it shouldn’t keep you from being “respectful”.
