It takes decades to get really fit and work towards your full athletic potential. Might as well find a way to enjoy it in the process.

Choosing the best exercise to help a painful pathology has very little to do with the pathology itself, but much more to do with the person with the pathology! Rehab people NOT pathologies!

MSK pain Bits of the body can get upset, irritated & really painful. This can be very disruptive on our lives But they often do calm down over time Nothing was out of place, misfiring or not functioning correctly!

How I give a nod to ā€˜wear and tear’ as an OA contributor 🤯😬 while explaining how exercise can benefit. Our job is to recognise competing views and distill them for the patient’s benefit.

Open access British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) new paper adds to lit that rehab just as good as a scope for degenerative meniscus tears. I have two going right now - they're doing fine, it seems to come down to the person and if they can accept the stiffness/aches associated. bjsm.bmj.com/content/59/2/9…

My boys can lose 15-1 at kids soccer. They forget about it in about 30 seconds and move on… unlike the parents. Kids have great resiliency, let them fail it’s part of their development šŸ’ŖšŸ˜ƒ

Sound advice from Gordo Byrn Any signs of overuse injury āž”ļø Keep things rolling @ Z1 - You’ll maintain fitness. - You won’t risk making things worse. - You may even make some aerobic gains! šŸ’Ŗ Keep things Z1 until comfortable and not limping around post training

The same for great physiotherapy. Find that ā€˜in’ Find that way to connect with a person, what makes them tick and therefore if and how you can help them. Tendon physiology…?? Don’t sweat about it šŸ˜Ž

Yes but what about standing on one leg with your eyes closed… 😭 surely… like if you fall over in the dark or something šŸ˜‚

Absolutely šŸ’Æ Health promotion doesn’t change anything but worse than that it fools the providers into believing they’re making a difference.

This exactly. Pain is a normal part of a healthy life. You will suffer less if you are active. Stop expecting a ā€˜cure for pain’

Always amazed when cyclists in busy jobs, family fathers, do: 6x10 min threshold weekly Fast-paced group ride in the weekends Additional LIT work at VT1 And they lift heavy x2 per week …and then wonder why they don’t improve.
