Housing is an investment. And investment prices must go up. Housing is shelter. When the price of shelter goes up, people experience distress. Housing can’t be both a good investment and broadly affordable—yet we insist on both. This is the housing trap. Escape on 4-23-24.

Why don’t more people walk in Orange County? Because we prioritize driving and don’t understand the concept of the human scale–at all.

A letter calling for SoCal regional rail governance reform has been written by RailPAC, Streets For All and Californians for Electric Rail. It says county agencies do not prioritize regional rail and defer to hyperlocal interests. They call for an independent agency to focus on regional rail.

It’s unbelievable that something so loved and harmless–the neighborhood cafe–is still illegal in most U.S. cities by default, and that the state needs to step in.

Concerned Citizens and Transit Advocates need to phone CA State Governor Gavin Newsom's Office and Demand State Emergency Funding to immediately start repairs to get the Amtrak and Metrolink tracks reopened ASAP with the same intensity as the recent downtown LA I-10 shutdown.

I am crushed and angry. After an inspiring 2-day huddle on walkability w/ America Walks, I learned that two pedestrians died on City of Costa Mesa streets incl. on a Caltrans District 12 road we know is dangerous & deadly. Pedestrian deaths are preventable, unacceptable, and must be ended.
