LA Metro says peak-hour bus lanes for Roscoe Blvd expected to start construction in May 2024. Bus lanes were originally targeted for implementation in Summer/Fall 2023 and are part of the North San Fernando Valley Transit Corridor Project (cancelled BRT).

LA Metro has released the RFP for a contractor for “Advanced Works” for Southeast Gateway Line, to prepare alignment for main project construction (utility relocations, soil abatement, freight relocation, etc.). Contract might also include building C Line infill transfer station.

LA Metro is planning to test collision avoidance systems on 20 buses. The systems would warn drivers of potential collisions with vulnerable road users and alert pedestrians when buses are making a turn. Metro plans to test two different systems (equipping 10 buses with each).

March 2024 status report for LA Metro’s ESFV line. 28 days were added to target service date (now 9/30/31 instead of 9/2/31). They have decided to buy 33 light rail cars (instead of 34). Early work contracts planned to be signed in April and May 2024.
