"Self-harm is not a psychiatric diagnosis.." Lol yeah maybe not in theory. However, for most of us who self-harm, we know that in practice, self-harm is synonymous with BPD. You don't need to meet *one single other diagnostic criteria* & they'll slap that label on you for life 👍

Psychiatric survivors do not need a “clinical assessment” of our experiences. We don’t need psychiatrists to approve of our memoirs. Instead of learning you revert to the only thing you know: diagnosing. This writing is horrific & a grand example of epistemic violence in action.

I hope we each take time to figure out whether we want liberation or just a portion of empire's spoils. I hope we're honest--about ourselves & others, with ourselves & others--once we know.
