If you aren't lucky enough to spend lots of time with college students, maybe you don't know how earnest, smart, and resolute they are. I can tell you that I, for one, find hope every day I spend with them. They're inheriting the problems of the world. They deserve respect.

Getting rid of EMTALA, which the Supreme Court seems poised to do, means that if you show up to an ER bleeding to death from a car accident, the hospital can decide if you look rich enough to save.

Pretty neat.

All students are asking for is an end to the killing. All we want is for our taxes to stop supporting genocide. We (the people who have a right to protest and disrupt) just want it to stop.

As an assistant professor of Ophthalmology at USC, I could not be more disappointed in my institution. I have taken care of patients blinded by these rubber bullets

- officer 1 or 2 grabs one student in an attempt to apprehend them
- several officers push downwards into students with shield
- officer 3 continues to jab baton downwards
- officer 1 continues to punch and shove students

A quick summary of escalations:

- police pushes into students with shields
- officer 1 hits students with baton
- police 2 hits students with baton
- officer 1 grabs student's arm
- officer 1 jabs students with elbows
- officer 3 jabs students with baton at downward angle

I've seen no credible reporting of actual antisemitic incidents at the UT Austin protest. What I can tell you is that I've reported on numerous neo-Nazi events and Greg Abbott never once tried to put any of them in jail.

These violent police will radicalize a generation. These racist chancellors will radical a generation. Our genocidal president will radicalize a generation. Beating down, arresting & brutalizing student protesters will only increase their steadfastness for Palestinian liberation

s/o to the disabled organizers on the ground at these protests getting people to mask and distributing respirators. every time I see a masked crowd I know there are immunocompromised people in those communities fighting eugenics to make that happen

Ahem. Yes that’s I unit out of 2 units total on COVID outbreak at the CCI folks. The same CCI with only 29 chemo/radiation/stem cell transplant for the whole of northern AB. Tough to discharge out and admit new ones when existing patients have covid. This worries me. #abhealth

btw even if COVID and airborne viruses did not exist, people have every right to wear a mask to protect themselves against surveillance.
