We can spend £65bn a year on Housing Benefit by 2065 or build 100,000 social rent homes a year. @4socialhousing make the incontrovertible social and economic argument for more social housing: redbrickblog.wordpress.com/2019/03/20/sho…

It's been 75 years since the Temporary Housing Programme saw the building of post-war #prefabs in the UK. This is the 100,000th one! Many found happiness, warmth and comfort in their new homes – do pick up our book to find out more! liverpooluniversitypress.co.uk/books/id/52228/

Thought I'd take a look at the Prefab Museum national archive of post-war prefabs and prefab life. Surprised to see a pic of me aged about 8 looking pretty pleased with myself. 1949

From our director @catherinecroft: We are in shock at the loss of our beloved Elain Harwood. She was one of my best friends, and got me involved in C20 in my early 20s. She was the soul of the Society; her unmatched expertise, enthusiasm and generosity touched every one of us…

Birmingham was heavily bombed during the Second World War, with over 12,000 homes destroyed. Over 4,000 prefabs were erected across the city as part of the Temporary Housing programme. 🛠️ Although only supposed to last for 10 years, many still stand today. 🙌 📍Wake Green Road

Near to the house I'm researching a village of prefabs were built in late 1940s for those who had lost their homes during the war. A fascinating part of our housing history!! More stories via Prefab Project plus wonderful films from 1940s on British Pathé 👇 youtu.be/KRD5nuKqruk?fe…
