thejournal.ie/catherine-conn… This is an absolutely extraordinary scoop by Niall O’Connor. The fact our potential future Commander-in-Chief saw no issue with hiring a convict jailed by the Special Criminal Court is troubling. No plausible deniability here. All public information.

An Taoiseach Micheál Martin says Catherine Connolly needs to be fully transparent in respect of her actions around trying repeatedly to gain clearance in Dáil Éireann for a woman who was a member of a fringe anti-peace process group and served time for serious firearm offences.

It's commendable that Catherine Connolly speaks her mind, as she did on Claire Byrne Live. It's a mind that should be let nowhere near the Presidency. @Labour and Social Democrats have really let us down.

More concern for The Labour Party Ireland, a party with long history of supporting democracy from the foundation of the state. Respect for institutions of our country now tied up with Connolly campaign.
