New from me: Daggett says union demands are all that matters. Everyone else's pain is fine: “I will cripple you, and you have no idea what that means.” Actually, independent contractors do know. Total disregard for us is the heart of #FreelanceBusting freelancebusting.com/p/the-weight-o…

TIL that I agree with Sean O'Brien: "Any workers—on the road, in the ports, in the air—should be able to fight for a better life free of government interference." "Free of government interference" sounds pretty sweet. Is there an app that I can download?

"...unions and labor organizations from Buffalo to Long Island pushed for the bill [while] business associations and chambers of commerce came out against it." Again, New York State Democratic Party pushed a bill favoring unions, not businesses. Governor Kathy Hochul signed it. wtnh.com/news/analyzing…

I'm no political strategist, but it sure seems to me that Kamala Harris could reach the Black voters she appears to have lost simply by stopping Democrats' relentless, remorseless attacks on independent contractors.

And New York should not follow California’s example, which is a nightmare for freelancers/small biz owners. New York State Democratic Party like Senator Rachel May (RachelMayNY.bsky.social) Brad Hoylman-Sigal 🌈🥯 AndrewGounardes and especially Robert Jackson push for anti-freelancing legislation to help powerful unions continue to attack us.

Sooooo truuuuu, Fight4FreelanceNY! Blue State Labor Law is the last bastion of progressive control over individuals who want to work for themselves. Authoritarian group-thinkers detest hardworking, responsible and self-reliant individuals.

Acting Secretary Julie Su We are supposed to have government of, by and for the people. Not government of, by and for the unions. #WhatTheHellDOL #FightForFreelancers

Noah Smith 🐇🇺🇸🇺🇦🇹🇼 % of U.S. workforce that is in unions: 10 % of Democrats labor policy written by unions: 100 The party needs to start listening to the rest of us--and stop the damn #FreelanceBusting already. It is ridiculous that this has been our recent reality: freelancebusting.com/p/lets-do-this

We really, really, really need clarity on whether President Trump's first-term policy of protecting those of us who earn a living as independent contractors is still his policy on independent contractors. Hopefully, Senator Tim Scott or Senator Bill Cassidy can shed light.

The SEIU leader that these allegations are about, George Gresham, was on the advisory committee to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's task force that pushed the narrative of independent contractor "misclassification."
