New York State's commitment to fully fund our public schools will positively impact students, teachers, and families across the 48th Senate District. We must continue prioritizing these efforts, as our children's education and future depend on them.

This budget will improve life in Central New York. Our efforts have yielded positive outcomes, such as securing additional aid for municipalities, allocating $12.5 million to curb child poverty in Syracuse, and preventing cuts to education aid. My full statement is below.

We mourn the loss of two brave law enforcement officers. Today, the Senate paid tribute to their commitment to protect and serve. Our hearts go out to their families, fellow officers, and the people whose lives they touched. We honor their legacy and preserve their memory.
