Brexit is having “profound and ongoing” negative impact on UK goods exports and imports, latest Jun Du analysis finds. No one lives in the counter factual world, but leaving single marks continues to cost UK. And 2023 was worse! 1/2 on.ft.com/4gpd3qd

Brilliant from Mike Galsworthy and worth your time. No crass slogans or one liners. Just articulate, moral sense How to end the Brexit argument in four minutes.

Whenever Tim Farron speaks on this issue it is with passion and from his heart. We must always put humanity first in our politics and this why I’m a #LibDem

Ratcliffe, the UK's last coal power station, is about to power down for the last time 🔥 It's got me reminiscing about all the times we were told this would cause blackouts 👀 much like we hear about phasing out gas for renewables today

A genuinely historic day for Britain and the world. The crucible of the Industrial Revolution halting the use of coal power once and for all, and proving it is possible for an advanced economy to end its reliance on coal inside a decade or so. businessgreen.com/news/4364612/e…

This is as useful a brief summary of the Brexit debacle as I have read. Thank you Brian Cox - perhaps it might be even more useful if our present government considered how far we should continue to be bound by the serious damage caused by such an error

It’s time for Keir Starmer to be honest with the country about the fact the Brexit red lines are self defeating. Britain won’t get investment and growth back until we repair the Brexit rupture which is destroying trade. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The estimated cost of Brexit in annual lost tax revenue is £40 billion. The Treasury briefs there is now a £40 billion fiscal adjustment to be made. Of course other decisions ( the Tory NI cuts) have contributed. Nonetheless October 30th is fairly the Brexit Budget Reckoning .

This is what the new government needed to face up to in today's budget. This is the real headline and they avoided it. Brexit is the black hole we need to close in the UK economy.

Fixing the UK’s broken relationship with the EU is even more urgent than before. We must strengthen trade and defence cooperation across Europe to help protect ourselves from the damage Trump will do.

A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. RT if you agree 🌳

Andrew Bailey is right. Most people don't realise how shockingly *bad* the UK's goods trade has been after Brexit and the pandemic. UK exports are 23% lower than the pre-2020 trend and imports are 16% below the trend.

After this morning’s Council meeting, at least 24 out of 27 countries oppose changes to the deforestation law. To ensure the 1 yr delay is met, the 🇪🇺 Parliament has no choice but to revert to the Commission’s original proposal. Any other strategy would put all at risk #EUDR

Appreciate there are no easy options, but truly mind blowing the UK can be staring down the barrel of two lost decades and be seriously considering more of the austerity that was so central to the first lost decade. theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/m…
