Intending to send an $8mm interest payment, CitiGroup accidentally wired $893mm to a client’s lender appearing to pre-pay a loan not due until 2023. Citi asked for the $ to be returned, but they were refused. A judge just ruled Citi is out of luck. Be more careful next time.
