"Shapiro’s point, throughout the book, is that we’ve always meddled with nature; the answer is not to stop meddling, but to meddle better." nature.com/articles/d4158…

Excited to share my postdoctoral work that was published today @cellstemcell. We find that trisomy 21 (#Downsyndrome) induces reorganization of the #3Dgenome in Neural progenitors similar to #senescence and can be ameliorated with #senolytics. cell.com/cell-stem-cell…

4/14 We can observe rapid shifts in the evaluation of Russia’s role in the war. The share of respondents who view Russia as the aggressor doubled, while the share of those considering Russia a “peace-maker” halved.

I am horrified by the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Ukraine. It is hard not to suspect that rather than collateral damage, it is being used as a weapon of war. I feel lost and powerless about how this can be stopped, but it simply cannot continue.

Why not new imperial measurements for molecular biology? kiloWindsor instead of kiloDalton, crown-pairs instead of base-pairs etc. Calling The Royal Society theguardian.com/politics/2022/…

New preprint from our lab, led by Helen Ray-Jones (Helen Ray-Jones). In this story, we probe the link between enhancer activity, enhancer-promoter contacts and gene expression using genetic variation as "nature's perturbation experiment". biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Thread...
