Firefly Petunia update. Glowing like crazy. 10 second night shot in total dark. My daughter the unwilling model. 🤭

Light Bio Antonio Regalado Currently on its third flush since receiving it, lives under a grow lamp in my kitchen. I was concerned that these would be somewhat fragile/weak due to the energy expended on light, but the three I have are all quite robust. One week of transplant shock, then boom! Flowers.

Antonio Regalado Mine are doing great! Lots of flowers and buds that grow in the dark. Needed repotting and a dedicated sun light. Super happy with the results

Pro Tip! Take your plants out of the box as soon as they arrive. If you’re out of town, have a friend bring them in for you.

My Light Bio bioluminescent petunia is enchanting AF

Finally saw the light of my bioluminescent petunia from Light Bio

You can definitely see it glowing by eye in a dark room, appears more blueish white than in the night mode photo. Unlike anything I've ever seen before. Definitely worth it!

Jorge Gómez Light Bio Do things to shorten the time roots remain saturated after watering (slightly warm ~78-80*F, oscillating fan for airflow, maybe porous pot), as they don’t like to be wet for too long, or dry to the point of wilting. Overwatering is easier indoors, and bane for the genus.

Update on my Light Bio Firefly Petunias, they seem happy in their new outdoor hanging home. The glow is much more apparent now and can be seen even with a lot of ambient light and my eyes not having had time to adjust to the dark. Taken with my phone on a 3 second night shot.

This will be my last update on the Firefly Petunias for a while. The new soil and bright LEDs are coaxing out an impressive volume of flowers, and the luminosity has plateaued at “full moon.” If you are growing inside, be very cautious about watering frequency. Light Bio⁩
