I am pleased to see that a number of arrests have been made at the incident in Peckham. It is not acceptable for violent protesters to disrupt lawful operations by immigration officials. This kind of violent conduct cannot, and will not, be allowed to succeed

It’s totally unacceptable that protesters have tried to disrupt the movement of migrants from a hotel in Peckham to the Bibby Stockholm Barge. Thugs using force cannot be allowed to stop lawful work. These hotels cost over £5b per year - it’s right their use is being reduced

Sadiq Khan has had 8 years to get a grip on crime. Londoners have had enough. We deserve a Mayor who will take rising crime seriously, not just when there’s an election.

2. Recruit 1,500 more police officers

Khan has allowed stop & search to drop by 44% over two years - making London less safe as fewer knives are being taken off the streets. As a consequence, knife crime is up a lot this year in London, whereas it’s flat in the rest of the country outside London
