On May 31st, 1999, Firefighter Lewis J. Matthews, Engine Co. 26, died in the Line of Duty as the result of burns received the day prior while attempting to extinguish a townhouse fire at 3146 Cherry Road NE, 2nd Alarm on Box 6178. Never Forget.
