The openness of Scottish Prison Service in terms of laying bare the reality of the situation is unusual & to be commended here. It *is* time for them to say ‘no more’. It’s not scaremongering. It’s what we’ve been saying for years. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotla…
Our increasing total Scottish Prison Service population is of huge concern, but looking at this graph of the women's population from July '22 - July '23, can anyone tell me if this looks like the correct time to close services in the community like Turning Point Scotland 218 project? Anyone?

One year on from the publication of ‘Hearings for Children’, the report which makes recommendations about the redesign of the Children’s Hearings System based on the conclusions of the Care Review, this animation from The Promise Scotland reflects on the process & progress so far
The recommendations serve to ensure the heart of the Children's Hearings System is inquisitorial and rights-respecting, with the views of children and families right at the centre of decision-making processes. (2/4) Children's Hearings Scotland @ChildReporter @OHOV_Scotland David Mackie
Sheriff David Mackie, Chair of the Hearings System Working Group, shares his thoughts on the Scottish Government's Children's Hearings redesign consultation, what it means for children & young people and concerns about the inclusion of a ‘Legal Member’: thepromise.scot/news/sheriff-d…
No children or young people under the age of 18 are in prison in Scotland. A historic achievement. Removal of the last remaining children from Polmont - and the guarantee no Scottish child will be jailed again - is a fitting legacy for William Lindsay. heraldscotland.com/politics/24555…
It is vital that🏴supports young people to move on from care in a safe, loving & respectful way. Read more about The Promise Scotland's response to the Scottish Government 'Moving on' consultation and the change needed to #KeepThePromise to those moving on from care: ow.ly/N0hJ50U5xLt
