You know what would be better than giving poorer parents free apps...reopening/ reinvesting money into Sure Start centres which actually provided vital support for families. theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/f…

My condolences. This endemic epidemic of extreme pain in all stages of education is so wrong.Platitudes such as "we take it seriously" doesn't stop it.Focused NASUWT action does.If you are in this pain call member support. We can stop it.Don't make fear keep you silent. ne pasaran

Following consultation with members over the pay offer, the NASUWT is putting Ministers and employers on notice that teachers have reached the end of the road & a new deal for teachers on working conditions must now be agreed as a matter of priority nasuwt.org.uk/article-listin…

Whilst the pay offer has been the recent focus of everyone’s attention, responses from NASUWT members have confirmed that there are other issues of equal concern which need to be addressed urgently, in particular excessive workload & pupil indiscipline nasuwt.org.uk/article-listin…

NASUWT members are tired of politicians saying that they value teachers but then doing little to demonstrate it. If the employers and the Government believe a pay settlement signals the end of the matter, they are sadly mistaken. nasuwt.org.uk/article-listin…

teachers should not suffer mental health problems from wanting to teach. As a society we should stop simply saying this is WRONG & take action. NASUWT make a difference for teachers. don't quit. make a call. we can make it stop & allow you to continue the job you love

Today's flimsy proposals won't protect our rights at work or stop us falling behind the rest of Europe. And there’s nothing to stop a right-wing Tory government from tearing them up. No one should be taken in. Our rights are still under threat. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

DfE I am seeking assurance from you as chair of academy trustees to ask if there is a structured pay policy in place as you pay an individual over £150,000 and two or more others over £100,000 each Chair yup. No teacher met pm progress DfE Good. you may continue the redundancies

Delivering lessons to a class for an absent colleague is SUBBING. It is not Cover. As your new Welfare action for Day 2 of mental health awareness week, you should not use the word 'cover' when your non contact time is removed and you are asked to substitute teach. 1/5

Dan McCarthy (@danmcnasuwt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

However, if they were unable to find a substitute /supply teacher, then a member of staff could be asked to provide "Emergency Supervision to Cover the Absence in Unforeseen Emergencies." This would be to prevent the children being sent home - for lack of supervision. 3/5

Dan McCarthy (@danmcnasuwt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The correct term for teaching the class of an absent colleague was and still is "subbing." Please use this term and not cover. 4/5

NASUWT members don't forget to book a place on the Mental Health Course on the 27/28 May in Bury St Edmunds which will cover (sic) this and much more to protect your rights and your Mental Health in the workplace.
