A plane carrying 20 tonnes of World Health Organization (WHO) supplies just landed in Beirut, #Lebanon 🇱🇧, to support treatment of patients suffering from injuries & burns as a result of yesterday’s massive blast. My deepest condolences to the family of Dr Ousmane Touré. He was one of Africa's brightest stars, who gave so much to the #Ebola response in West Africa and the DRC. His work lives on in the strengthened response we now have to Ebola.

I am saddened and appalled by the senseless killing of the two sisters of the Sacred Heart Convent on the Juba-Nimule road. My thoughts are with all of those whose lives Sr Mary and Sr Regina touched, and the others affected by this attack
