Retrapped the Yellow-browed late yesterday afternoon- in 24hrs weight gone from 5.6g to 6.4g !

This is ' purple boy' - first purple colour ring used, caught last Friday, thought he had gone but no retrapped just now, weight Friday 5.6g, today 6.6g! BTO Daniel Gornall

Great start to a weekend Cape Clear Bird Obs a small ringing session in Cotter’s garden produced 25 birds including 2 very fatty Willow Warbler, 5 Chiffchaff and 5 Yellow-browed Warbler. The latter now all wearing colour rings as part of a new migration project Daniel Gornall EURING BTO

Two nice colour ringed YBW sightings recently: Mainland Shetland -> Carmel Head, Anglesey Lundy -> Lower Moors, Scilly Especially interesting southerly re-orientation from Shetland. Many thanks to the ringers & birders who reported these. 📸Reg Thorpe

Red-breasted Goose & Todd's Canada out on Rockcliffe Marsh today

In Feb 23 we undertook a census of the UK naturalised Barnacle Goose population. The aim to produce an updated population estimate & report on winter distribution. Results have now been published in @BritishBirds, with our thinking on future monitoring needs #Ornithology 1/7 ⬇️

Belting spring morning at Coombe Hill today, at least 13 Redstart (all singing males), Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Common Whitethroat, 2 Sedge Warbler & 2 Yellow Wags flew north #glosbirds
