Excellent day out in Norfolk with Charles Gunn , with the superb Eastern Subalpine Warbler at Holme and then the White Stork at NWT Rushmeadows, devouring frogs before flying to roost.
An excellent few weeks' birding and bee-ing, with patch ticks including inland Rock Pipit and nocmig Common Scoter over Bowthorpe, the Coues's Arctic Redpoll at West Raynham with Charles Gunn and then Keith Langdon's Grey-backed Mining Bees in Norwich today!
Joined Dan Beadle Charles Gunn and Liam C for a couple of days in the SW on Sun & Mon. The standout highlight from Sunday was great views of the Sociable Lapwing on the Fal Estuary at Ruan Lanihorne. An amazing wader and one I thought I'd missed the chance to see!

A fantastic day out bird racing yesterday with Drew Lyness around Norfolk. We had some luck with jamming in on Waxwings, Little Gull, 6(!) Sparrowhawk, Kittiwake and Brambling. Some unfortunate dips with Glibis, RBGoose, Smew and Canada Goose 😬. But a respectable 124 achieved!
A good few days pre-Christmas birding back in Cornwall - Sibe Chiff in the garden recently, 3+ Little Bunting at Tremethick Cross, a long overdue lifer GW Teal and plenty of gulls at Hayle yesterday, and Reuben Veal's Bonaparte's today. Cornwall Birds
The apparent 1w Eastern Yellow Wagtail SWT Carlton Marshes yesterday. 100 new birds since starting at UEA for me!
Lots of Shags are dying along the Scottish and NE England coasts at the moment. Please keep your eyes peeled & report any colour ringed birds to [email protected]
Counts of dead birds also welcome 🙏
