Mostly deep in late-stage PhD stress these days, but here are two books I've read (& loved!) lately. Noreen Masud's unique memoir gave me a fresh perspective on the flat fenlands I grew up in, and Harriet Baker had me transfixed by the rich possibilities of rural modernism.
