River buffers 💧🌳 If every river had this along its length, the improvement to our biodiversity, climate resilience, water quality and water security would be absolutely huge. Probably the biggest reversal of nature depletion we could achieve. and it’s just so simple.

War crimes by both Hamas and Israel must be condemned for what they are: disgusting outrages against humanity. But refusals to contextualise either fit into a LONG history of justifying racist, supremacist colonial subjugation. Let's look at some examples, particularly Ireland.

Palestinian children in Gaza hold a press conference outside Al Shifa hospital, speaking English so the world cannot pretend not to understand them: “We come now to shout and invite you to protect us; we want to live, we want peace… we want to live as the other children live.”

Obviously Hamas are awful, but if you put people in a concentration camp, blockade it, and bomb it every so often, what social and political movements do you think will emerge? That’s not a recipe for creating a society with a lot of Lib Dems and a thriving Girl Guiding scene

Why is NPWS planting trees in a forest? Where is the difficulty with controlling grazing to allow for natural regeneration? Why does Killarney National Park still have no management plan? Why is there is so little transparency? irishexaminer.com/lifestyle/outd…

Everyone should listen to this. If you wonder what we are missing from the Irish countryside then this will highlight what has been lost. When people mention sustainable land use- measure it by it's sound. A quiet countryside is a ghost town.

These caulis were planted last summer and some were meant to be fit from Jan to now and beyond. Bad weather meant they did not grow as planned. There was no caulis to be got in recent weeks. Now there is a glut. Along with cheap imports it’s a disaster. It’s a disgrace

Coillte are making decisions on the future of afforested peatlands based on Yield Class? This is what happens when you allow a semi-state to operate under an outdated commercial mandate. Its time for the State to lead from the front & manage #PublicLand in the public interest

This is how biodiversity loss happens. A wet patch of a field drained. And for what? A bit of marginal grazing in an unprofitable system. Agri-environment schemes count for little when landowners can do such damage (often inside the law) with impunity.
