ANNOUNCEMENT: We welcome Artist @KitOrlando to our event. His current work explores the use of repetition of movement and sound in relation to a score. Kit creates work that explores the limits of his body, often of a durational nature and using exhaustion as a creative tool

In his recent work @KitOrlando has been researching minimal music, in particular the process of phasing - a method used prominently by Steve Reich in the 60's and 70's, give 'It's Gonna Rain' by Steve Reich (1965) a listen here → youtu.be/vugqRAX7xQE #continuumthoughts

'It's Gonna Rain' by Steve Reich was the first of many pieces of music where he experimented with the use of phasing within music.

Anne Teresa De Keermaeker used Reich’s music as the foundation of her early work 'Fase' (1982) - applying phasing to movement, the dancers start in unison and become slowly out of sync. See 'Paino Phase' one of four dances within 'Fase' → youtu.be/RTke1tQztpQ

During CONTINUUM @KitOrlando will be exploring how to phase movement while performing solo. His durational work 'RErPeEpAeTatRrEePpEeAaTtrReEpPeEaAtTreRpEePaEtAT will take place throughout the event on Wednesday 14th at The Others !
