This movie is as old as I am, and the miniature work still holds up all these years later, looks better than anything on a green screen or AI could ever do.

a big part of what makes the room so fascinating is how thoughtful the shot composition is. That tracking shot after he gets out of the car the window is so good

Holes (2003) is nearly flawless. The way it weaves three timelines together without ever losing momentum is so clean, and every payoff actually lands. Itโ€™s one of those adaptations that somehow feels tighter than the book.

I miss old lineup construction: 1. Fastest player 2. Bat control guy (he sucks) 3. Best all-around hitter 4. Best power hitter 5. Lumbering power or bust hitter 6. High-OBP guy who leads off now 7. Bad switch hitter 8. Catcher 9. Gold Glove defender (-5 DRS, can't hit)
