This is our favourite book in the museum – it saved the life of Special Constable Sergeant Mitchell in 1941. He was carrying his book of regs in his inside coat pocket when shrapnel hit it. What’s your favourite book? #HBAHBooks

The Police Code (on the left) and the notebook (on the right) in our museum belonged to PC John Brown who signed up to fight in the First World War and never came back. His widow donated them to the museum. #HBAHBooks
