Underrated awesome thing Bernie and AOC are doing right now is prioritizing swing districts and states in their events and endorsements so they can take credit for midterm gains and readily present them as being about a progressive wave. The rest of the left should follow suit!

For many Arab & Muslim New Yorkers, the phrase "Israel has a right to defend itself" is a call to unmitigated violence & war crimes targeting their loved ones. Therefore, every candidate for NYC mayor should be asked to condemn that phrase, then asked again, & again, & again.

As Maia has pointed out, it’s fascinating to wonder what audience these people are even trying to appeal to. Surely they know all actually existing conservatives in America just want to see monster trucks rolling over woke trans immigrants and not actual news, right?

My criteria for AOC or for any elected is simple: As long as they take socialist positions roughly 90-95% of the time and don’t do anything breathtakingly outrageous, I’m all in. Having a margin of error is an absolute necessity for us to be an effective governing organization.

This guy has shown such marvelous political instincts both in his House campaigns and post November 5th it’s genuinely fascinating how he managed to botch that Senate run so spectacularly. Like, what happened with campaign? Did he just surround himself with a bunch of imbeciles?

Very fair to conclude he lost more on the basis of ideology than logistics, but getting slaughtered by 32 with his amount of resources and visibility feels bananas to me. There were still successful centrist primary campaigns that year, his messaging was just uniquely shitty.

The problem with Andrew Cuomo’s fake “be available more” strategy is that he’s bad and the more people know him the less they like him.
