Next step on the journey starts Jan with the OFC/NZF B licence. To any coaches with physical challenges don't let it stop you progressing, find a way. Great to have a supportive environment at NW FC & Cap Football that value learning North Wellington FC Capital Football

The theme for the U15 TDP program I lead at Nth Wgtn this year will be :Respect: for the opposition, for officials & for both sets of supporters. We aim to make an impact both on & off the pitch. We will be the ones that do it differently. #respect Capital Football North Wellington FC

Worst time in my coaching career this weekend, telling nearly 30 kids (some I know well) that they didn't make a squad after trials. There's got to be a better way. From Mark O'sullivans blog As many as possible,as long as possible, in the best environment possible Mark O'Sullivan PhD

We do it differently in the NW U15 TDP: Rules from the boys for parents (& hopefully opposition parents at our home games): 1 Always acknowledge good play from both sides. No abusing opposition 2 no abuse of refs 3 no coaching the team 4 socialise together at games 5 respect

Big thanks to the team Petone FC for putting on another great Hilton Petone. thanks especially to all the ground volunteers. The lads & staff from both North Wellington FC teams appreciate the effort you have put in. Thanks Capital Football for sorting all the officials

More & more ‘pre academies’ popping up in NZ for 9-12 year olds Do kids need an academy structure at 9 years old? Parents look closely if your child is ‘selected’ for a pre academy As many as possible, as long as possible, as good as possible

North Wellington may not be top of the NZ Central League but in Callum Kennett they have I would argue one of the top (if not top) keepers in the league

With the 2nd highest u20 minutes in the CL,improving form, evidenced by pushing the top teams like Olympic all the way & the joy in which the lads play, all tied to a strong TDP program focused on fun & development North Wellington are on track #youthdevelopment #LearningJourney

14 passes, switches of play, multiple players involved. Two goal of the week contenders in one game...tell me it's not true...Introducing the North Wellington way North Wellington FC New Zealand Football 🇳🇿 Capital Football

Just watched a doc on a UK academy, it was shocking. Coaches talking about dropping U9s from teams.Sports sci testing, dieticians & psychologists for kids at U8-U10.The kids all stressed out. With u8 & U9 pre academies appearing in NZ is this what we want here? Lets be better

GPS trackers on 13 & 14 year old children in a development league, seriously? NZ we have to stop going down the path of overseas academies before its to late. Teach them but just let them play.

Shout out to Capital Football. We in the community may not show it all the time but thanks for your hard work.Out promoting the game all week, out on cold nights making sure we in the TDP space are doing right by the kids we work with. Appreciate the Mahi team New Zealand Football 🇳🇿

Big change for 2025. Taking on a new role as Technical Director at Seatoun AFC. Looking to help them achieve their aim of becoming the best grassroots club in Wellington. First step on the journey is to develop their youth space. Exciting times ahead.

Congrats to Seatoun AFCs own Matt Peden on selection for the NZ Futsal team Proud moment for one of Wellingtons smaller clubs, punching above our weight as always. We’ll be cheering you on every game Seatoun AFC New Zealand Football 🇳🇿 Jason Pine

I don't think I have ever seen a NZ Football team dominate & outplay an Australian Senior mens team by so much for the majority of a game. This is also with some key players missing. Pleasing to see the progress we have made.

I read on Stuff that Christchurch United are now looking to start their academy at age 2? If that's true I am really hoping it's just fun football & we are not going down a dark road. thoughts people? Mark O'Sullivan PhD #letthemplay Sport NZ New Zealand Football 🇳🇿
