Reminder that you don’t need to be a good player to be a good coach Will Wade is one of the best coaches in the nation and didn’t even play High School Basketball

The most toxic person in a program isn't the complainer. It's the talented player with a mediocre work ethic that everyone else starts to emulate.

Very sad to watch some kids playing their hearts out to win & others only playing for themselves. Team sports are TEAM sports for a reason. If you’re not there to give everything to your team, you’re there for the wrong reasons. Individuals can be great within a team environment!

I’ve watched a lot of basketball the last couple of days. One thing is apparent — life is a lot easier when your best players make big plays.

Incredible take from Charles Barkley on Tom Izzo: "The media, who don't know anything about sports, say 'Why is he yelling his players?' That's called coaching... if parents & friends get mad because you're getting yelled at, get better parents & better friends."

Coach Cal praised HPU for flying students out postgame. He added: “Administrations win championships. Coaches win games. In this era of NIL, if you’re not totally into it and they’re not committed, you’re not winning. You just can’t. And High Point is.” Worth the full listen.

Barkley dropped truth 💯 We used to CELEBRATE coaches like Pitino & Izzo. Now it’s clip-chasing to shame greatness 🤦‍♂️ Players don’t need soft… they need being coached hard and accountability . They need adversity. That’s LIFE. #CoachesEdge #CBB

Coach Cal’s right — administration matters. But at the high school level, it takes more than that. You need administration that believes in you, coaches/players that are all in, parents that get involved in program, and a community that doesn’t just cheer on Friday nights… but

Education has always seemed to be focused on fixing teachers. Teachers don’t need to be fixed, but they do need to be supported, encouraged, & appreciated.

“If you’re that dumb that you think any coach in America would be yelling at a guy because he did it wrong once, or twice, or five times, or ten times, you have no idea what coaching’s all about. Because every day at practice, he’s probably hearing the same thing.” Incredible.

Hurley is headed to his third Final Four in four years, so maybe all the pearl-clutchers who don’t like his bombastic style are … wrong?

Conflicted on how to feel. Love Coach Scheyer and Duke and therefore am gutted for them. Been in that spot once or twice as a coach. But I also love Coach Hurley and UConn, also. Two of my favorite programs. Sad someone had to lose.

Biggest selection screw-ups in history: 1) Barabbas over Jesus Good Friday, 33 A.D. 2) Alabama over Notre Dame Selection Sunday, 2025 #GoodFriday #CFP #collegefootball

Probably UConn’s most run action tonight involved Reed setting a gut or exit screen for a shooter and then sealing for a high-low. Turns out it’s nice to have a player who can play down low. Post play still alive and well in the Final Four.
