A 110 years ago, men and boys set off to fight in a war predicted to be finished by Christmas 1914. Those who returned were promised a land fit for heroes. It is that promise, as yet unfulfilled, I have been reflecting on today as well as the sacrifice of our service people.

With the support of Cllr Stafford, I have submitted a motion calling for a targeted crack down on problem pavement parking in Dudley. It won't be heard for a while, but I welcome feedback in the meantime from residents and other cllrs.

Reaffirming his commitment to road safety, Simon Foster has purchased 16 high-tech speed devices to be used by members of the public to combat reckless and dangerous driving in local communities across the West Midlands 😤 "The new devices gives power to the people." 👏

Chuffed to have received a letter of thanks from a Wollaston resident in the Express & Star All praise to hardworking Dudley Council colleagues in the Highways Team I can confirm no money changed hands with the author of this letter. 😆

This was an avoidable drubbing for Labour on so many levels. Well done to Simon Phipps for a well organised campaign. You've earnt a Christmas beer. This result will have a big bearing on Dudley Politics going forward.
