John Major’s government was brought down by two illicit payments of just £2000.

These days, a businessman can buy £500 million in public contracts by donating 3% of that sum to the Tory Party.

And it’s all legal.

How is this possible?

The combined debt of the water companies is around £60 billion. It was zero when they were privatised.

Since privatisation around £65 billion has been paid to shareholders.

I’m no mathematician but that seems like a great deal for shareholders.
