Any FHSU Teacher Ed students that might be interested in participating in the exciting 360-video research please contact me. This is open to on-campus and online students and I would be happy to answer any questions you have. No specific experience or major required.
Thank you to Ian and Jackson Sternberg Museum of Natural History for hosting the FHSU Teacher Ed Elementary Science Methods students this morning for an inside look at the amazing science opportunities that exist within Hays!
I'm so proud of FHSU Teacher Ed students Skylar & Nikolette who braved snow & a cold night of camping in the 1st trip of the 360 video state park project. They collected videos that highlight differences in plant communities and interactions between humans and the landscape.
Another group of FHSU Teacher Ed students working on 360 video, this time at Cedar Bluff. Khloee, Thane, and Lacy collected videos related to the unique geology of plants.
I'm always appreciative of Ian at Sternberg Museum of Natural History for taking time to talk to our science methods class both about the resources available for teachers, but also techniques that teachers can borrow from the informal education world.
I'm super proud of FHSU Teacher Ed students Morgan Barba who presented her research on using 360 video in the ag classroom today at the state capitol.
I am super proud of FHSU Teacher Ed students Morgan Barba and Kaylee Horn who traveled to Clinton State Park to capture 360 video related to habitat and natural resources.
Another great state park weekend, this time in Kanopolis and Mushroom Rocks. Cheyenne, Isabel, and Eos documented so many amazing things including habitats, erosion, a cave, and a very friendly lizard. FHSU Teacher Ed
Rounding out the month of state park trips, FHSU Teacher Ed and FHSU Online student Calena Awesome joined Dr. Crawford and I to record 360 video to document landscape change in El Dorado State Park. This was the 7th state park and 14th student to participate this year!
One last 360 video state park for the 23-24 school year as FHSU Teacher Ed student Morgan Staab (w/ a couple helpers) braved the wind to record videos at Little Jerusalem SP to pair with lessons on fossils.
With this trip, a total of 15 FHSU Teacher Ed students documented 8 Kansas state parks this year!
