Aid & development needs radical reform, driven by grassroots civil society, to remove the self-serving aid industry interests. Can we do this? Yes we can remove the corporatised NGOs & consultants, & donor-driven agendas if we get organised globally. civilsocietymovement.org/projects/aid-a…

We need a representative voice of civil society that captures the full scope & richness of relational life outside the state & market. A voice of civil society to speak about civil society. We are getting organised at last. Join us. civilsocietymovement.org/manifesto/

To gauge the mood of young people in any society, go to a small town 800kms from a metropolitan centre & talk with those on the street from sun up till sun down. Then begin to form an opinion. But never confuse an NGO Conference with the real world.

Global Initiative on Refugees. With 71m displaced people in the world, the old paradigm of refugee support & settlement in the West while the developed world is emptied of its skilled people, is dead. civilsocietymovement.org/projects/globa…

Since 2009, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Apple & Microsoft (GAFAM) have made 400 global acquisitions. None have been blocked by any competition authority in any country. This must change. Whatever happened to civil society? | In the last 40 years the architecture of voluntary citizen action has been transformed - corporatised & co-opted. It's time to fight back! opendemocracy.net/en/transformat…

Revival of civil society is not primarily about 'innovation'. It's about winding back both states & markets which intrude into the relational fabric of society & corrode it. Keep them both out of our families, communities, associations, clubs & co-ops.

Reforming the Co-operative Movement. Democratic governance & member-driven innovation have been supplanted, in too many cases, by management capture, hierarchy-driven knowledge flows, market inertia & capital inadequacy. civilsocietymovement.org/projects/refor…

Real Faith in Action is embedded in daily life, in the ordinary relationships & struggles of living authentically, not in dramatised "look-at-me" virtue-signalling detached from real life. The fact that it is done by priests & nuns merely compounds the detachment from real life.

Phillip Blond Perhaps so, but the Chinese Empire will prevail - and it will be much worse the British. We are already seeing that in many Commonwealth countries, where Chinese debt becomes a slide into lost sovereignty. A strong, united Europe is the only thing that can push back.
