Calling for more places where a car is nice to have instead of must have NOT = "Take people's cars away"

I subscribe to the radical idea that streets should be safe enough for children to use them.

I am not worried about getting assaulted on the subway or knifed on the street. I am worried about stepping off the curb into the crosswalk with the walk light. But strangely when people talk about CRIME they don't think for a second about the real and present danger of drivers.

As we traverse the recession…we will not need better malls…We will need more grocery stores and food banks. We will not need over-priced sports venues. We we will need more community centers, to restore a people from the grips of despair. Stop giving 💵 to wealthy developers.

If you think having a gadget that guides you to places is as good as actually knowing your way around, you are missing out. Sad!

If you live "out in the country" but your daily routines, consumption habits etc. are indistinguishable from what people in regular old suburbs do and unconnected to a functioning rural economy then you are not rural and you don't get a Rural Sustainability virtue halo.

@MoldyBasil Seems cheaper, better for cities, and more enviro-friendly to invest active transpo and transit dollars in cities and let suburbs keep their auto-dependent infrastructure. But end the subsidies for it. If you want that lifestyle, pay for it yourself.

If we implemented electrified EMUs on the Providence Line, one could easily live in Providence and commute to Boston in ~45 minutes (and vice versa). We really don't grasp how transformative frequent, electrified Regional Rail could be in this country.
