1/3 I'm so exhausted by the process of trying to stay safe in my own home. After 2 months of trying to navigate the governing system that is supposed to support this process, the Tenants Board of NL has proven itself to be absolutely useless.

2/3 I have contacted the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary multiple times. I've called my MHA Jim Dinn. I have emailed and called Minister Sarah Stoodley. I've emailed NL Housing and Victim Services who are paying a portion of my tenants rent. I am met with silence each time.

3/3 No one should have to live in fear, let alone in a place where their name is on the mortgage. If there's any doubt as to why so many landlords decide to remove their apartments from the market, this is why. VOCM News CBC Newfoundland and Labrador @SaltWireNetwork

1/2 Following my previous tweet I received a swift response from a NL Housing SW, although a fairly rude one informing me that they are not responsible for the actions of people they subsidize. Victim Services, however, was kind and informative as expected.

2/2 I was also informed that Sarah Stoodley's office had taken action on my behalf unbeknownst to me. Thank you Minister Stoodley for taking care of your constituents. I look forward to discussing the details of that phone call with someone from your office...

8 weeks after making a formal application to remove my volatile tenant through the Residential Tenancies Board of NL, I'm hoping today is the finally the day. Then it becomes time to discover what a private citizen has to do to lobby for change to a broken system.
