Have golden eagles returned to #Snowdonia?! So hope this is true (though doubtful!). We saw a very similar looking bird over Ambleside in the #LakeDistrict this April, but told ourselves it couldn't possibly be... Lake District RSPB England dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wal…
I do try and give a good performance when doing the Environmental & Natural Sciences @ Bangor Univ. Biology and Zoology open day talks at Bangor University, but I never realised my Fitbit classed them as "aerobic workouts"!? #bangoropenday
Was great to be at the New Civil Engineer Awards in London, where some of our Bangor University work and the #Chester Wetland Centre, was part of the Binnies shortlisted entry in the "Impact in Water & Environment" category! #NCEawards
This makes me genuinely proud to work for Bangor University. Honorary degrees for those caught in the disgraceful Post Office scandal. As an ex-journalist I fully believe those in authority should always be questioned, and power must always be held to account.
Utterly brilliant Bangor University!! Honorary Fellowship for Sir Alan Bates. Couldn't be prouder of my university for recognising the achievements of Sir Alan in the best way we can.
Fantastic to hear our students talk as part of the Environmental & Natural Sciences @ Bangor Univ. Biology & Zoology presentation for the Bangor University open day. Best feedback: you're "better than Oxford"!! (Sorry University of Oxford!)
Very pleased that Bangor University is one of the main supporters of the March for Clean Water alongside organisations like: RiverActionUK RSPB Surfers Against Sewage The Wildlife Trusts Women's Institute Soil Association!! marchforcleanwater.org
Fantastically inspiring watching X Trillion / Eleanor Church & eXXpedition's "X Trillion" film at Chester Picturehouse . Was great to sit on the panel afterwards, to talk about #plasticpollution, and discuss some of the research we're doing at Bangor University, alongside Helen-EthicalAdviser & Lynne Griffiths.
Not sure anyone can, or should, defend Thames Water 💧's actions. However, poor state of our rivers is more than the failure of UK water industry - it is the result of decades of failure across many sectors of society. Major changes needed to address this nationally. Bangor University
It's official - Bangor University's Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Oliver Turnbull, is a fully fledged wetland fan. He even has a #wetland in his (rather wonderful) garden. Just waiting for permission to start putting some greenhouse gas sampling chambers on it now...
Wild camping in #Shropshire with eldest daughter - and it obviously had to be in a riparian buffer! Not only are riparian #wetlands ideal for hammock camping in (when not flooded!) they're also vital for our landscapes, environment and society! Ordnance Survey Ray Mears & Woodlore
Very pleased to see Bangor University's logo here as a supporter of the March for Clean Water!
🌊 Bangor University is proud to be the first university to support the #MarchForCleanWater! On 26/10/24 Prof. Christian Dunn and students will join thousands in London to demand cleaner rivers. Read more: bit.ly/4gfZpWp #MarchForWater #BangorUniversity RiverActionUK
An absolute pleasure today to represent Bangor University at the Royal Air Force Commemoration for the Battle of Britain at Cadeirlan Deiniol Sant ym Mangor. Then to chat to some wonderful Environmental & Natural Sciences @ Bangor Univ. alumni from "just a few years ago"!! Amazing to see how a degree from Bangor set these folk up for life!
