notion is such a piece of shit software it's the designer's wet dream of what a docs app should be, not what a practical person's docs app should be genuinely bearish on anyone who makes me use notion

TikTok is guesstimated to be like up to a quarter ish of this revenue it seems this year? It’s still wild how many people in the comments think ByteDance is only TikTok … it’s 2025 guys and Googling is still free

The new X algo has definitely got worse. Watching the news is not the same as entertainment. Credibility matters. I don’t want anons tweet about a topic I care about. But I don’t mind a remix to funny meme. The signals for high quality content need to be fixed. Nikita Bier

Given all the vibe coding platforms are seeing large churn and growth slowing down. Maybe if this integration has legs we see $SHOP acquire . It makes sense to me to see Shopify integrate vibe coding into its site builder.

Wow. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong pulled up a prediction market at the end of their earnings call today and he rattled off all the words people were betting he would say. Legend. (H/t Tyrael)

It feels like there’s not that much space in the UI layer or the model layer, but there’s still space for quality data sources that make agents actually more useful. Especially for specific verticals that rely on UGC.

A lot of commentary saying how Meta is late but most people haven’t built social networks before. 1) Many questions we ask AI are personal and sound stupid in public (low aura) 2) Meta is right on time, they don’t need to be first, they can let OAI make mistakes and then copy.

I do find that Chinese society is more grounded in pragmatism than sometimes outdated, traditional/ideological values. This might be a necessary technology to save us from one of Elon Musk’s greatest fears - population collapse.

I introd my mom to ChatGPT earlier this year. She installed it and never used it, asked me to “teach her how”. Yesterday she told me she was really good at using AI. Me: what did you use? Her: I just search on Google and it has AI. $GOOG

I’m glad he was wrong. But I can’t help but feel the X timeline too often feeds my confirmation bias. I wonder how the algorithm can help support more high quality contrarian views.

For me “slop” is something lacking in creative human intent. It lacks soul, it lacks effort, you can feel it. It’s as much a one-shot copy & paste prompt, as it is a retweet with a single “lol”, or a single-move dance trend on TikTok. Consumable but low nutritional value.

Sometimes I think China and Musk probably have a pretty similar optimistic view of how AI will benefit humanity leading to true universal abundance for all. It's weird that most Chinese people are optimistic about AI but most Western people are pessimistic about it.

In over 15 yrs of being a PM there is nothing quite as remarkable as the fact that I am now shipping code to production thanks to AI code generation. Not prototypes. Less Jira tickets. Less explaining. Less wireframing. Just shipping. It’s pure dopamine-fuelled joy.
